Since moving back to San Diego I have discovered a new passion…. ROLLER DERBY! No it’s not the fake WWF style made famous in the 1970’s. This is a REAL sport, that is intense and competitive and has pushed my body to limits I never thought possible. I have made some great friends and it is so awesome to be a small part of something so AMAZING!! 

The San Diego Derby Dolls are the nations first hybrid league of both banked track (the inclined surface) and flat track (on the ground) roller derby. Our home bouts are at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, come check them out!! =)

My baby girl turned 2 years old yesterday!!! It has been raining like crazy this week, so the poor kid had a wet Birthday. I think I need to get her a cuter rain coat though, she borrowed that one from her brother. Happy Birthday Ava!!

The Avant’s are the cutest little family. Their little girl Evie, was the most patient and easy going one year old I have ever photographed! She was such a doll! Here are some of my favorite shots from their session.

I am a couple sessions behind on my blogging ( life has been crazy lately) , but with Halloween right around the corner I wanted to put these up. My friend Kristen really wanted to do some Halloween pictures of her boys in their costumes. I knew downtown San Diego would be the perfect place to shoot these little super heros!!

I met up with the Liera family a couple weeks ago. They haven’t had family pictures taken since I did them more than 2 years ago!! They have the cutest girls, which were very cooperative for the shoot! These are some of my fav’s. :

Kendall is the ultimate beautiful Southern California girl! She is also just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out! I had a BLAST shooting her Senior pictures.

Last week I had the oppertunity to go to a local photographers meet up and hear Becker ( an OC wedding photographer) speak. He talked about the passion of photography and showed a lot of pictures he had taken just for himself. I am really glad I went and really appreciated his talk. As a photographer and mother of two, I sometimes forget to take photographs just for myself. Just because I love the ART of Photography.

On that same note I was chatting with a friend ( a couple months ago) while walking around my neighborhood.  I was telling her how where I live, is so different from any other part of San Diego I have lived before. In that conversation she mentioned to me that I should take some pictures that represented my neighborhood. I thought it was a cool idea but never really got around to it. Beckers talk inspired me to pick up my camera and accept that challenge. And here are some of the images took. :
